GE Link Bulbs

Wink Hub

All GE Link bulbs require purchase of Wink Hub

GE Link light bulbs connect via a hub to the Wink app on your mobile device, so you can control them from anywhere. Remotely operate individual lights or groups, sync them with other smart products, dim or highlight for the perfect setting, and automate lighting to fit your schedule.

Check out GE Lighting on MikMak

*This 12-watt bulb provides nearly the same light output as a 60-watt soft white incandescent bulb (800 lumens vs. 840 lumens).

Installation couldnt be simplerjust connect the hub, twist in the bulb, turn it on, and sync with the Wink app.

Easily automate your lighting to turn on when you wake up, turn off when you leave, or dim when bedtime approaches.

Once connected, Link puts the power at your fingertips. You can control individual bulbs or groups of them from afar.

All you need to connect Link bulbs to the Wink app on your smartphone is the Link Hub, Wink HUB, or Wink Relay.

GE Link light bulbs last over 22 years* (based on 3 hours/day) and use 80% less power than traditional ones.

Please seeWink FAQsfor a complete list of FAQs on the Wink products.

Wink is the quick and simple way to connect you and the products you rely on every day in your home. You can manage products from multiple brands in a single app, allowing you to select the products that are right for your life.

When you first connect the Wink HUB to your Wi-Fi router, your mobile device will make a direct connection to the Wink HUB. After this initial connection, all communication between your mobile device and the Wink HUB pass through Winks cloud services to maintain a connection wherever you are.

To wirelessly connect GE Link lighting to the Wink app on your mobile device, use one of the following supported HUBs:

The light on the front of the Wink HUB is used to show the current status of the HUB.

Flashing pink disconnected from the Wi-Fi network and waiting for credentials (configuration mode)

Flashing yellow attempting to connect to your Wi-Fi network and Wink

Solid blue connected to Wink

The HUB may also show these states:

Flashing blue pairing or removing a HUB device

Long red flash after flashing blue device failed to pair or be removed

Long green flash after flashing blue device successfully paired or removed

Brief green flash connected device changed state (for example, light turned on)

Where should I place the Wink HUB in my home?

The HUB should be located at least 3 feet away from any other Wi-Fi device (including the router). Position your HUB in a centralized location that minimizes the distance between the Wink HUB and your connected devices.

Stone, tile, mirrors, and large metal surfaces tend to interfere with wireless communication. Try to avoid placing your Wink HUB in locations that place these surfaces between the HUB and your connected devices.

If possible, locate your HUB in an open space at least 3 feet above the floor. Avoid cabinets when possible.

WEP networks can often be identified by the network password. If your password is exactly 10 or 26 characters long and only contains hexadecimal characters (0-9 and a-f), it is likely your network is configured with WEP security. Your network will need to be changed to WPA security before connecting the Wink HUB.

No. Once the power or Internet connection is restored, the Wink HUB and Link light bulb will reconnect.

GE hub connects its smart lights to Alexa and Google

You dont have to pay a fortune to talk to your bulbs.

When GE introduced its latest C-series smart light bulbs, the focus was on affordability — as they talked directly to your phone through Bluetooth, you didnt need a bridge device. That kept them out of touch of voice assistants, however, which meant replacing the whole lot if you wanted hands-free control. Well, you wont have to rethink your investment from now on: GE hasintroduceda hub, the C-Reach, that puts its bulbs on WiFi to enable support for Amazons Alexa and (by the end of 2017) Google Assistant. As with most smart lighting kits, you can steer lights individually or in groups just by talking to your phone or asmart speaker.

The C-Reach isavailable on Amazonright now, although whether or not it makes sense depends on what you buy and when. By itself, the hub costs $50 — your once-thrifty lighting setup could suddenly cost about as much as its peers. Things get better if youre starting fresh. A kit with a hub and two basic C-Life bulbs (which only do white light) will sell for $65, or $50 if you buy on Cyber Monday. A bundle with color temperature-shifting C-Sleep bulbs sells for $85, or $65 on Cyber Monday. If you dont need more advanced bulbs from a system like Philips Hue, this might represent a bargain.

Due to the higher rpm of this model, the 1-11/16 in. hub nut securing the tub is made of Stainless Steel and must be torqued to 150 ft. lbs.

If the hub nut is removed, it must be tightened to 150 ft. lbs.

If the hub nut wrench (PNWX5X1325) is used to tighten the hub nut, the wrench must be struck with a rubber mallet or dead blow hammer until it will not tighten any further.

This may take 30 to 50 hits with a rubber mallet or dead blow hammer.

To be certain that the nut will not tighten any further, align the spanner wrench with the holes in the basket and use them as a guide to determine that the nut will not move when the hub nut wrench is struck.

Impact wrenches are set to more than 150 ft lbs and should tighten the nut sufficiently.
